Cerys Cooper Jones is a versatile and dedicated drummer and percussionist with over 13 years of playing experience. Having achieved merits and distinctions across Trinity College London Classical and Jazz Grades one through eight, she has built exceptional technical skill and a strong command of music theory. While her background spans a wide range of styles, she now specialises in commercial pop, rock, R&B, and funk. Her strong sight-reading ability and deep theoretical knowledge enhance her versatility, making her a sought-after musician for both live performances and studio sessions.

 

Over the years, Cerys has performed with numerous orchestras, function bands and original artists, consistently delivering professional, high-energy performances. Her ability to adapt quickly to different genres and playing environments has made her a trusted choice for artists and musical directors. Whether stepping in for last-minute session work or elevating a live show, she brings the same level of preparation, musicality, and stage presence to every gig. This track record of reliability and artistry has helped solidify her standing within the music community.

Beyond the drum kit, she is an accomplished percussionist, with experience ranging from orchestral work to high-profile session gigs including performing at Swansea Arena as part of a Christmas multi-date show run. Her refined sense of rhythm and dynamics enables her to seamlessly integrate into any musical setting, whether adding intricate percussive textures in the studio or driving the groove on stage. With an unwavering dedication to her craft, Cerys continues to push her creative boundaries, cementing her status as a dynamic and dependable musician.

In addition to her successful career as a musician,  Cerys also has extensive experience in live audio engineering. Her passion for this field developed after realising that combining the perspectives of both performer and technician creates a deeper understanding of each role. She has since worked as a freelance audio technician for Major Tom Ltd, one of the biggest leading audio companies in the UK, with a career highlight of engineering on a night of the Alfie Boe tour. Alongside her technical work, Cerys is also a freelance social media manager with expertise in understanding trends, audience engagement and creative content creation, enabling her to create engaging content for modern audiences.

Beyond her musicianship, Cerys has demonstrated strong leadership and organisational skills as President of Bath Spa University’s Women’s Football Club for the past three years. She successfully re-established the team during her fresher's week and currently manages two teams. Her ability to balance multiple high-level commitments highlights her strong work ethic, professionalism, and passion for the music industry.
